Myunghan Kim, CEO of KNR Systems, Donates 100 Million Won to '1398 University Development Fund'
“May it cultivate more outstanding talent and grow into a prestigious university”
On Friday, May 31, Myunghan Kim, CEO of KNR Systems (Mechanical Engineering, class of '87), visited President Ji-beom Yoo to deliver a donation of 100 million won to the 1398 University Development Fund.
The donation ceremony, held in the President’s Reception Room on the third floor of the 600th Anniversary Hall at the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus, was attended by CEO Myunghan Kim, President Ji-beom Yoo, Executive Director Yeong-su Ju, Vice President of the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus Jae-hyun Kim, Vice President of the Natural Sciences Campus Jae-bung Choi, Director of Legal Affairs Dong-hwan Lee, Professor of Mechanical Engineering Kyung-hoon Kim, and Hyun-dae Shin, Administrative Director of the College of Information and Communication, Software Convergence, and Engineering.
Myunghan Kim, who obtained his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering from the university, founded KNR Systems in 2000. The company, which manufactures robots and machines for special purposes, was listed on KOSDAQ in March 2024.
In his commemorative speech, Kim stated, "I believe that the education and experiences I gained at Sungkyunkwan University have shaped who I am today." He added, "Through this donation, I hope to contribute to the university’s growth into a prestigious institution that produces many outstanding talents. I will continue to support and contribute to the development of the university."
President Ji-beom Yoo expressed his gratitude, saying, "We deeply appreciate Mr. Myunghan Kim's invaluable donation. This contribution will greatly aid in the development of our university and the improvement of the students' educational environment."
