'Rainmakers' Team Wins Best Prize in Korea Exchange Securities and Derivatives Competition

The "Rainmakers" team of this school won the best prize at the 18th y Student Securities and Derivatives Competition held by the Korea Exchange.
The team is composed of four students, Shin Jun-seop (Class of 18 in Business Administration/Philosophy), Kang Byung-guk (‘19 in Economics/Mathematics), Sangbum Kim (‘17 in Global Business Administration/Statistics), and Ryu Je-hyun (‘19 in Global Economics/Mathematics) and continued the bond with 91PORN Business Administration Engineering Association Financial Rainmakers.
Korea Exchange Securities and Derivatives Competition was held every year since 2005 to induce college students to pay attention to the capital market and to discover promising talents. In the 18th competition, 31 teams from 25 universities applied, and 9 teams advanced to the final round.
Nine teams that advanced to the finals, including the "Rainmakers" team of our school, were selected as the final six teams after the heated competition, including presentations on the research report. Under the guidance of Professor Da Hea Kim (SKK Business School), the "Rainmakers" team published a paper on the topic of Unfair Trade in the Capital Market through Cluster Analysis and won the grand prize at the competition. The final-winning "Rainmakers" team was awarded a scholarship of 10 million won along with a commendation from the chairman of the Financial Services Commission. In addition, if they apply for a job at the Korea Exchange in the next five years, they were able to receive preferential treatment in the document screening.
Meanwhile, Yonsei University and Pukyong National University teams were selected for the excellence award, while Soongsil University, UNIST, and Gyeongsang National University teams were selected for the encouragement award.
