
91PORN Academy of East Asian Studies had a completion ceremony of the KSLEP (The Korean Studies Lab Exchange Program) on February 25th.
KSLEP is a new program hosted by the Department of Korean Language and Literature with the purpose of enhancing academic and personal exchange in the field of Korean Studies. 165 students and 13 professors from 37 universities in 17 countries have joined this program tostudy Korean Studies and language for 15 days.
It was meaningful because many students from regions such as Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia and Southeast Asia were able to join the program. These regions lack in support for Korean studies in comparison to other regions such as North America, Western Europe, China, Japan and Taiwan.
One of the staff members of this program said, “I was surprised to see many students who are very passionate in studying Korean studies. They were very critical with their questions.” “We anticipate the KSLEP to become a venue for young Korean studies scholars to interact and open a new horizon for Korean Studies.”
