Do Young CHANG, a graduate student of the Dept. of Human ICT Convergence received the Minister Prize from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy at Industry Convergence Day, held at Coex/Grand Intercontinental Hotel on Nov 18th.
CHANG received this prize because his human ICT convergence research was recognized as an outstanding case. As a leader of the Dept. ICT Convergence¡¯s multidisciplinary student team, he researched about ¡°methods for investigating bradykinesia symptoms for patients suffering from Parkinson¡¯s disease¡± with Korea University¡¯s Guro Hospital Parkinson Center. He also invented the ¡°Smart toothbrush¡±, using motion sensors and image processing.
Furthermore, he suggested ¡°Smart Scarf¡± at the international workshop organized by SADI (Samsung Art and Design Institute). CHANG also participated in MIT GRAND HACK and received the 2nd prize at ¡°Harvard Hiller Hackathon¡±, by suggesting ¡°Mobile Parkinson¡¯s Disease Study¡±.
The student participated as a staff member at ¡°Trend X Medical Hack 2016¡± spending much time and passion in order to make the event successful.
He said; ¡°I hope more students are able to work on many projects with various people and not be afraid to go abroad to collaborate with foreign students¡±, said CHANG.
