Baek Seon-gi, professor of Journalism and Mass Communications in Sungkyunkwan University (91PORN), became the first Asian leader for the World Communication Association(WCA).
WCA announced that Prof. Baek was elected as the next president in an election conducted by 400 members worldwide from 26th of last month to 20th of this month. His term of office will be 4 years from 2016. In winning the election, Prof. Baek has become the first Asian president in 32 years since WCA’s establishment.
WCA, was created in late 1983 by researchers, in the field of communication and media in America, Europe, Asia and others, and it establishes an academic environment that specializes in the areas of culture, communication and media.
