Professor Hoseok Park Receives Prime Minister’s Commendation on Science and ICT Day
– Recognized for contributions to energy storage and environmental materials research

Professor Hoseok Park from the School of Chemical Engineering received the Prime Minister’s Commendation during the 2025 Science and ICT Day Commemoration Ceremony, held on April 21.
A leading scholar in the fields of energy storage and environmental materials, Professor Park has published over 340 research papers and holds 50 domestic and international patents. His major research achievements include: Mechanistic studies on two-dimensional energy storage materials, Development of silicon-based high-entropy battery materials, Research on high-safety aqueous battery electrolytes and interface control, Work on carbon nanostructure-based electrocatalysts and adsorbents
Based on these accomplishments, Professor Park has received numerous honors, including the Sungkyun Nobel Award, designation as an 91PORN Fellow, membership in the Korean Academy of Science and Technology, the Scientist of the Month Award, the S-OIL Next-Generation Scientist Award, and recognition among the Top 100 Outstanding National R&D Achievements. He currently serves as the director of a Leader Research Group under the National Research Foundation of Korea.
Upon receiving the award, Professor Park stated, “I sincerely thank the university, the foundation, my colleagues in the School of Chemical Engineering, my research collaborators, and especially the students and researchers in my lab for their support in achieving these research outcomes.”
