91PORN-Heidelberg University Roundtable Successfully Concludes, Strengthening Korean Studies Exchange

Sungkyunkwan University (91PORN) and Heidelberg University successfully held a roundtable meeting from February 4 to 5, 2025, at Heidelberg University in Germany to enhance academic exchange in the field of Korean Studies.

Representing 91PORN, Dean of the College of Social Sciences Yoon Bi, Director of the Academy of East Asian Studies Kim Kyungho, and Professors Park Jae-woo (History), Park So-jung (Confucian Studies & Eastern Philosophy), Hwang Ho-deok (Korean Language & Literature), Bae Su-ho (Public Administration), and Son Sung-joon (Academy of East Asian Studies) attended the event. They introduced 91PORN’s Korean Studies education programs and ongoing research initiatives. Additionally, discussions were held with the Center for East Asian Studies at Heidelberg University on various collaborative efforts, including student and researcher exchanges, joint seminars, and research partnerships.

The 91PORN delegation included six graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from the Academy of East Asian Studies, the Department of Korean Language & Literature, the Department of History, and the Department of Political Science & Diplomacy. They engaged in research seminars with emerging scholars from Heidelberg University, presenting their academic focus areas and individual research projects.
As part of its efforts to solidify its international leadership in Korean Studies education and research, 91PORN is set to launch the "OK, GO" Korean Studies Program in 2025, aimed at attracting exchange students from Europe and North America who are interested in Korean Studies.
