The Academy of East Asian Studies (AEAS) is strengthening its international collaboration efforts with overseas institutions

Representatives from The National Archives of Hungary visited AEAS at our university on Thursday, April 20th. Kim Kyung-ho, director of AEAS, and Csaba Szabó, Director General of The National Archives of Hungary, discussed plans for technological cooperation and academic exchange, including a project to register rare documents held by both institutions using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. They also agreed to actively participate in Korean studies research conducted by The National Archives of Hungary.

In addition, on Wednesday, April 26th, Zhang Yan Yu, director of the Foreign Language School at the Hunan Normal University in China, and her colleagues visited AEAS. AEAS and Hunan Normal University have been actively exchanging in an academic collaboration centered on Northeast Asian research, including signing a regular academic conference agreement. During the pandemic, they held virtual academic conferences and agreed to resume them in person and enhance researcher visits and academic exchanges.
Through active collaboration with overseas institutions, AEAS aims to expand the international influence of Korean studies.
