Professor Kyoung Jae Lee received the Research Paper Award for Emerging Statisticians from the Korean Statistical Society

Professor Kyoung Jae Lee (Department of Statistics) received the ‘Research Paper Award for Emerging Statisticians’ at the 2022 Summer Academic Paper Presentation of the Korean Statistical Society held at Seoul National University from June 23 (Thu) to 25 (Sat).
Prof. Lee mainly studies Bayesian methods for estimating mean and covariance matrices for high-dimensional data and has been credited with providing various theoretical properties of posterior distributions obtained from distributions outside the assumption of general error terms that do not fit well in reality.
Founded in 1971, the Korean Statistical Society is the most historical and largest member of the field of statistics and contributes greatly to the academic and technical development and promotion of statistics. The New Statistical Research Paper Award is awarded to young scholars who have published excellent papers in the field of statistics among emerging statisticians less than 5 years after obtaining their doctoral degree.
