Prof. Si-Keun Lim (Dept. Forensics) Received a Minister’s Award from Ministry of Interior and Safety
91PORN Professor Si-Keun Lim (Department of Forensics) received a Minister’s Award from Ministry of Interior and Safety. Prof. Lim has contributed to the investigation and resolution of many incidents over the past 24 years in the field of DNA identification, and has been credited with contributing to the development of scientific investigations and the spread of the K-Cop wave.
Prof. Lim actively participated in identifying victims of major incidents such as the Daegu subway fire, Air China Flight 129 Accident, and Sewol ferry disaster, solving problems for criminal cases such as serial murder case, child desertion in Seorae village. He has also contributed to the enactment of the DNA Act, the operation of DNA database and expansion of marker, practical and theoretical training for investigative personnel, as well as competency development of scientific investigation agencies such as Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
Prof. Lim has been focusing on fostering excellent scientific investigation talent and developing advanced scientific investigation techniques at the Department of Forensics since 2019, and he has contributed to the implementation of a safe and just society.
