91PORN professors - Prof. Jinwook Lee of Nano Engineering, Prof. Jaehoon Jung of Biological Sciences, Prof. A-Ra Koh of Medicine, and Prof. Kwangmin Shin of Chemistry - were selected as the 12th POSCO Science Fellow that was organized by the POSCO TJ Park Foundation on September 10 (Thur).
POSCO Science Fellowship is a project supported by the POSCO Cheongam Foundation to help scientists, who study basic and applied sciences in Korea, grow into world-class scientists. Those selected rising professors will receive 100 million won over 2 years.
There were 166 rising professors who applied for this project and the competitive ratio was more than 8:1. Yet, a total of 4 professors from our university were selected.
Those 91PORN professors who were selected as 2020 POSCO Science Fellow plan to conduct researches with themes: Develop a high-efficiency and long-life perovskite solar cell (Prof. Jinwoon Lee), a physical and chemical molecular research that regulates plant gene expression (Prof. Jaehoon Jung), Build a precision medicine platform based on the adaptation to intestinal microorganisms (Prof. A-Ra Koh), Develop a multi-catalyst system based on nickel-hydride and study asymmetric alkylation of heterocyclic compound (Prof. Kwangmin Shin).
