Prof. Chul KWON of the College of Law was appointed as a special professor of The Law School of Tokyo University from Jul. 22nd, and gave lectures on ¡®Korean Law¡¯ to Law School students (63) and general undergraduate students (23).
The lecture focused on the introduction of Korean Law such as; Korean Law History and the Judicial System, but also delivered various classical and modern issues. Even though the lecture was an intensive course covering materials of one whole semester within a few days, it received a huge interest from the students.
During the course, each student had to pick one subject and compare Law systems in Korean and Japan. Most of the students said that learning Korean Law was very interesting compared to the law systems of other countries like France and America, and expressed their will to learn more.
Prof. Kwon said, ¡°It was very encouraging that many students participated in the 'Comparative Law', especially during this moment of tension between Korea and Japan.¡±
