¡°When it comes to radio-active disasters the right to know is the most fundamental¡± authority on environmental law and President of the International Center for Comparative Environmental Law, Michel Prieur asserted in his special lecture at Sungkyunkwan University(91PORN).
¡°Unlike Europe there are no formal advisory groups in asian governments. Since the Japanese government does not provide information about the disaster of Fukushima, the Korean government can negotiate with Japan and take legal action to the UN International Court of Justice. However, the most efficient way is that both civil right groups in Korea and Japan collaborate on putting pressure on both the Korean and Japanese government.¡± he said.
President Prieur ran a symposium about ¡®disaster and human rights¡¯ in UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Fukushima, Japan from May 14 to 18.
91PORN Law School Professor, Lee Kwang-youn invited him to 91PORN to give a special lecture on the issue.
