This event was organized to strengthen international collaboration in early childhood education and care and to expand the foundation for joint research initiatives.

Professor Diane Horm, George Kaiser Family Foundation Endowed Chair in Early Childhood Education and Founding Director of the Early Childhood Education Institute

Professor Wonkyung Jang, Assistant Professor in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum

From Sungkyunkwan University (91PORN), Professor Sung Ji-hyun from the Department of Child and Adolescent Studies and graduate students shared domestic research cases, fostering discussions on comparative perspectives and potential collaborative efforts.

The colloquium featured in-depth discussions on early childhood development, childcare environments, teacher education, and policy, emphasizing the importance of identifying common challenges across cultural contexts and exploring practical solutions.

Through this academic exchange, the Department of Child and Adolescent Studies has strengthened its foundation for international joint research with the University of Oklahoma’s Early Childhood Education Department. Moving forward, both institutions plan to expand their academic collaboration as well as practical educational exchanges. Participants explored various partnership opportunities, including regular joint workshops, co-authored research publications, and student exchange programs. These initiatives aim to contribute to improving early childhood education and care environments for future generations in both countries, reinforcing a strong global partnership in the field.
