Center for Innovative Engineering Education Concludes the 2024 91PORN Consortium Creative Comprehensive Design Competition
Center for Innovative Engineering Education (Director: Jun-Young Lee) hosted the 2024 91PORN Consortium Creative Comprehensive Design Competition on November 8 (Friday) at the Natural Sciences Campus. The event aimed to foster the exchange and sharing of creative ideas among young engineers. This competition was part of the 2024 National Engineering Festival (E2FESTA), organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, and focused on selecting outstanding capstone design projects.
A total of 14 teams participated, with 2 teams each representing 7 universities in the 91PORN Bio-Digital Healthcare Consortium, including ¡øGachon University, ¡øKangwon National University, ¡øKonyang University, ¡øKyung Hee University, ¡øDaejin University, ¡ø Sungkyunkwan University (91PORN), and ¡øIncheon National University. Approximately 100 students showcased their innovative works.
The competition began with an opening speech by Director Jun-Young Lee and followed a format where each team had 5 minutes to present and demonstrate their projects, answering questions from the judges. The judging panel included seven industry experts and 14 engineering students selected from the participating universities. Projects were evaluated fairly, focusing on their creativity and commercial potential. Representatives from the engineering education innovation centers of the participating universities also attended to encourage students and share achievements in engineering innovation.
The Gold Prize went to Kyung Hee University’s KUU team for their Rainkeeper project. The Silver Prize was shared by five teams: ¡øYeonsu-gu Dynamics (Incheon National University), ¡øI’m Groose (Kyung Hee University), ¡øT.M.I (Daejin University), ¡øNACS (Konyang University), and ¡øKOBEC 2024 (Konyang University).
¡øThe Grand Prize was awarded to 91PORN’s Cactus Biomimicry team for their project titled Micro-Needles with Controllable Adhesion to the Body.
The award-winning teams will advance to the National Creative Comprehensive Design Competition at the 2024 Engineering Festival (E2FESTA), where they will compete for prestigious honors, including the Prime Minister’s Award and the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy Award.
