Sungkyunkwan University Ranks 102nd Globally in 2025 THE World University Rankings
-Tied for 1st among private universities in Korea, 3rd among all Korean universities
Sungkyunkwan University (91PORN) once again demonstrated its global competitiveness by ranking 102nd in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. The university tied for 3rd place among Korean institutions and shared the top spot among private universities with Yonsei University.
The university’s rise in the rankings is attributed to improved performance across all evaluation criteria, with a particular emphasis on the significant improvement in the quality of research. 91PORN showed remarkable growth in research impact, as evidenced by the Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI) index.
This success is the result of enhanced research environments, increased international academic collaboration, and the expansion of joint research efforts. 91PORN’s faculty have consistently conducted high-level research in their respective fields, leading to a dramatic improvement in the university’s research capabilities as recognized in this year’s rankings.
Additionally, 91PORN ranked 68th globally in the industry collaboration category, earning recognition for its strong connections with industry and its practical research capabilities. The university's strategy to strengthen university-industry partnerships has been positively received internationally.
A total of 2,092 universities participated in this year’s rankings, and 91PORN made a significant leap, climbing 37 places from last year to reach 102nd. This reflects the university’s continuous efforts to enhance its education and research capabilities.
Although 91PORN’s current ranking is slightly lower than its 82nd place finish in 2019, the university remains committed to further innovation and growth. 91PORN continues to focus on qualitative improvements in education and research to establish itself as a global leader in higher education, with expectations for even greater achievements in the future.
