Professor Jeon Il from SAINT's Department of Nano Engineering ¡ø Receives 2024 Advanced Science Young Innovator Award
Professor Jeon Il from SAINT's Department of Nano Engineering received the 2024 Advanced Science Young Innovator Award on Saturday, July 13th.
The Advanced Science Young Innovator Award is given to outstanding young scientists under the age of 45 who have made significant achievements in the fields of biology, physics, chemistry, medicine, and engineering. The recipients are expected to show great potential as future leaders in their respective research fields. In 2024, six recipients were selected, with Professor Jeon being the only Korean awardee.
In addition to Professor Jeon, the other awardees include: ¡øYu Shrike Zhang (Harvard Medical School, USA) ¡øRitu Raman (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA) ¡øEva Blasco (Heidelberg University, Germany) ¡øWentao Xu (Nankai University, China) ¡øChaoji Chen (Wuhan University, China). Professor Jeon was highly praised for his research achievements in the synthesis of carbon nanotubes based on chemical vapor deposition and their application in energy devices.
The eligibility and selection criteria for this award are as follows:
1) Applicants must be under 45 years of age at the time of the award. 2) The award is given to individual researchers who have conducted top-level basic and applied research in the fields of materials science, physics, chemistry, medicine and life sciences, and engineering. 3) Recipients are selected based on the importance and originality of their research.
